The role of the Team Manager is to act as the liaison between the Club and the Team that they are managing to ensure the Team can play each weekend.
Whilst not overly administrative over the course of the season, the TM will have peak periods of activity (minimal) to ensure compliance in line with the Brighton Wolves requirements for each team.
The greatest impact of time consumed as the TM is during the registration period prior to each season commencing. There is also a small flurry of activity as the Season draws to an end in the coordination of trophies, as well as communicating intentions for the following season and handing over to a new TM (In the instance where this is required)
These main tasks of the TM include:
During the Registration Period, TM’s will:
Your main responsibilities throughout the season will be to ensure that all team members are committed and organised. You will be our point of contact for the team and we will ask you to pass on any information regarding changes to training or game times.
During the grading period, we will reach out to you to get your feedback on which division you think the team should be placed in.
Towards the end of the season, we will reach out to you and the coach with trophy information.
We will also enquire about your team’s intentions for next season before the end of the season.
When registering a team for a new season, the club will provide you with a registration link that you can pass on to all players and the coach.
Before passing on this link, please also register yourself as Team Manager using this same link.
If you haven’t already, you will be prompted to create a Play HQ account. Click the link and follow the prompts – there is no charge involved in registering as team manager.
Please note that all Team Managers are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
As the name would imply, the Coach is responsible for providing instruction and encouragement to the team during both training sessions and on game day.
Ideally, Teams will source their own coach. The coach doesn’t need to be a professional, most of our current coaches are parents of one of the team members.
The MBA support our Coaches by providing Coaching Courses throughout the year. When these sessions are offered, the Club will contact all our Coaches with the relevant information for interested parties.
If you are still struggling to find a coach, please contact [email protected] and we will point you in the direction of some Facebook groups where Coaches can be paid.
Due to the demand of high quality coaches, it is not unusual for the members/families of a team to pay a Coach. These amounts will vary depending on the expectations of the Team and the willingness of their parents.
If you are looking for some guidance regarding this, please don’t hesitate to email [email protected]
Junior coaches (i.e. coaches U18 y.o.) will receive a small cash payment per team as a thank-you for helping our teams develop confidence and skill.
If you feel you qualify, please fill out the Wolves Junior Coach Payment Form and email it on to [email protected]
Please note that this payment is made at the end of the season and MUST be claimed prior to the new season commencing.
Please ask your TM for the registration link.
If you haven’t already, you will be prompted to create a Play HQ account. Click the link and follow the prompts – there is no charge involved in registering as a coach.
Please note that all Coaches over the age of 18 are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
If you are currently 17, we recommend starting the process to get your WWCC approx. 1 month before your 18th birthday.
